My first experience with Dave occurred when I was looking for a replacement for the black plastic frame around my Ferrari F355’s manual shift lever. Mine was cracked. I had started a thread on Ferrari Chat asking if anyone had one they’d be willing to sell. Dave responded he did but first he needed to remove a slight warp across the top using some heat. That worked so it was now ready for refinishing. Since I also had an OEM radio bezel, a LH window switch frame and the center console door unlock switch that needed refinishing, I sent him those and agreed to buy the shift frame. When the parts came back, not only did they look great but were also expertly packed, a nice bonus, something you don’t always see. As soon as I could get them out of my dash, I decided to send him my 3 HVAC vents for refinishing too. As part of the process, this was to include his recently developed laser etching to allow painted white OEM indicator markings instead of decals. Even though I was one of the first to get this new process, the turnaround time was only a little over a week. When they came back, the white arrows and bars on the wheels looked perfect. So did the black refinishing. If anyone is looking to refinish their interior parts, especially the vents, I can highly recommend Dave’s work. Its impeccable, especially with this new laser process. In one phone conversation I understood that his bespoke refinishing products and the two step laser etching process are, without a doubt: the best solution.

My restoration project is a 2001 Ferrari 550 Maranello, the dash needed to be re-upholstered, so I decided that I should send Sticky RX Refinishing Solutions all my seven trim switches, vents, door handles, glove box lock, window switches, defroster vent plate, hood release, steering column surround. I also had the dash defroster panel refinished, it was not only sticky, but also getting the inside of my windshield dirty with black residue. I was so convinced of the value added of the Sticky RX processes, that I also sent Dave my new Factory sourced OEM Ferrari Vent Rings, and new Ferrari OEM Mirror Triangles, so I that I would not have to worry about them getting sticky in the future.

When I received my refinished parts back, my expectations where exceeded: pure perfection, they look better than new! Doing business with a knowledgeable Engineer like Dave is good fun. This is my first Ferrari project, and Dave’s guidance and encouragement has been, and continues to be invaluable. A very honorable man indeed, who values his customers and his customer service is the best. The whole experience was orderly, timely and very precise.

An example of Dave Lelonek’s attention to detail is that he noticed upon receiving my parts, that the “Sport” switch was not the correct switch for a 550, so he sourced the right part and refinished it. My Steering Column Surround  had to be replaced due to cracks and holes, he sourced the parts for me (he got me a good deal, for a difficult part to source) and refinished them, they look brand new. The list goes on, there is a great deal of value added in doing business with Dave, he even helped me find the period correct new OEM Becker Stereo for my car, at a very reasonable price.
